I would say this book is the best I've read on the topic, but I would not necessarily recommend it as a first read on the topic. Peter Decker's "The Utes Must Go" might be a good first read prior to reading this more thorough, but more complex, "The Last War Trail". I recommend having a detailed western Colorado map open while reading this book.5/5.
